Assessment / Evaluation
A complete
voice evaluation includes an in-depth clinical case history (interview
with you) to determine any medical or behavioral correlates to your
voice disorder.
A motor-speech
evaluation is also performed to determine the health and function
of the nerves and muscles involved in voice and speech.
Then,
an acoustic evaluation of your voice signal is performed for a measurement
of the different vocal parameters/elements that are essential for
optimal voice production. This provides a baseline profile of your
acoustic signal before therapy is performed. A repeat measure will
be made following therapy to determine efficacy/effectiveness of treatment.
